The WestWoods Vision
A New Kind of Farm
Wellness Destination
Westwoods envisions a future where wellness is rooted in land, food systems, and ecological responsibility. We are building a regenerative farm that prioritizes meaningful food and botanical production, land stewardship, and education as the foundation of long-term wellbeing.
Rather than treating wellness as an experience or escape, Westwoods approaches it as a relationship—between soil health, nourishment, plant knowledge, and nervous system regulation. Through agriculture, hands-on learning, and community connection, we aim to help people better understand where their food comes from, what they put in and on their bodies, and how those choices shape health over time.
Our vision is to restore a deeper connection between people and the land, proving that wellness does not begin at the surface, but at the root.
What guides our design
Nature First
Every site begins with the land. We design around natural features — forest lines, water movement, mountain silhouettes, and ecological flow.
Our spaces frame views, celebrate seasonal change, and blur the line between indoors and outdoors.
Farmhouse Meets Wellness
Our design language blends:
• Warm, lived-in materials
• Timber, stone, glass, and natural textures
• Soft, Scandinavian-inspired minimalism
• Functional farmhouse practicality
• Light-filled spaces designed for movement + restoration
Think: silent mornings, open-air pathways, firelight, steam, wildflowers, and soft architectural curves.
Regenerative & Respectful
Our development philosophy focuses on:
• Regenerative land care
• Low-impact infrastructure
• Locally built craftsmanship
• Food systems integrated into the guest experience
• Sustainability that feels thoughtful, not performative
We’re building to last generations.
What you’ll experience
A Working Agricultural Landscape
Westwoods is first and foremost a working farm.
Guests are welcomed into an active agricultural environment where food, botanicals, and flowers are grown, harvested, and cared for on-site.
Fields, gardens, orchards, and meadows are not backdrops — they are the foundation of daily life at Westwoods. Guests experience the rhythms of the land through seasonal work, learning, and shared meals rooted in what is grown here.
Space, Light, and Simplicity
Buildings are intentionally modest and dispersed across the landscape, designed to support farming operations while minimizing visual and environmental impact.
High ceilings, natural wood, and generous windows frame views of working fields, forest edges, and open sky — creating a sense of calm without separating guests from the land that sustains the experience.
Thermal Wellness in a Farm Setting
Thermal experiences are offered as a complementary farm-based amenity, supporting rest, recovery, and mental clarity for guests participating in agricultural stays, retreats, and educational programs.
Outdoor saunas, cold plunges, and quiet resting areas are designed for year-round use and integrated into the landscape rather than standing apart from it. These offerings support well-being and reflection.
Forest-to-Field Food Experiences
Food experiences at Westwoods are small-scale, seasonal, and directly connected to the farm.
Guests take part in:
harvest dinners
tastings
cooking classes
seasonal menus
Meals are built around what is grown on-site and sourced from neighbouring farms, reinforcing a direct connection between agriculture, nourishment, and community.
Movement, Stillness, and Education
Studios and gathering spaces support:
yoga and Pilates
breathwork and mobility
educational workshops and retreats
These spaces are intentionally simple, light-filled, and designed for small groups — prioritizing presence, learning, and connection to the surrounding agricultural landscape.
Modest Farm Stays
Accommodations at Westwoods are intentionally limited and designed to support the agricultural and educational use of the land.
Cabins are modest in scale and inspired by Nordic and farmhouse forms, using:
natural materials
neutral colours
simple, durable finishes
layouts designed for rest and restoration
Stays are short-term and integrated into the farm experience, offering guests a place to sleep, reflect, and engage with the land — not a standalone hospitality product.
A Place to Learn, Not Escape
Westwoods is not designed as an escape from reality, but as a place to reconnect with foundational systems — food, land, and health — through lived experience.
Guests leave with:
a deeper understanding of where food comes from
practical knowledge about ingredients and wellness
a renewed sense of connection to land, seasonality, and community
The near future
(2025–2027)
We are preparing to open Westwoods in British Columbia as a new kind of farm, grounded in wellness and community, and committed to producing food and botanicals with intention and excellence.
This initial site will demonstrate an integrated farm-led model that includes:
A working farm in active production
Small-scale, seasonal food offerings connected directly to what is grown on-site
Modest short-term farm stays designed to support educational, retreat, and agricultural use
A shared guest hub for learning, movement, and community gatherings
Complementary wellness amenities that support rest and recovery within a farm setting
This first location is designed to operate as a proof-of-concept — showing how agriculture can remain the primary land use while being supported by education, hospitality, and wellness experiences.
The learnings, systems, and operating framework developed here will form the foundation for future land-based projects rooted in similar principles.
The long-term
(2027–2035)
The long-term focus at Westwoods is to fully establish the farm as a mature, high-performing agricultural and education-based operation rooted in wellness, community, and land stewardship. Rather than pursuing rapid expansion, our priority is to deepen what exists here—improving soil health, increasing the quality and consistency of food and botanical production, and strengthening the farm’s role as a place of learning and connection.
Over time, Westwoods will continue to refine its agricultural systems, with a strong emphasis on lavender, cranberries, bees, and diversified food crops, supported by regenerative practices adapted to the land and climate. Educational programming will expand alongside production, offering deeper engagement around food systems, botanical knowledge, nervous system health, and the relationship between land and wellbeing.
The built elements of the farm will remain modest, site-appropriate, and purpose-driven, existing only to support agriculture, education, and community use. Long-term success will be measured not by scale, but by land health, product integrity, community relationships, and the farm’s ability to operate sustainably across generations.
Westwoods is intended to be a complete, enduring model in itself—one that demonstrates how agriculture, wellness, and education can coexist responsibly on a single piece of land, with care, patience, and long-term vision.
the feeling we’re building
If you could step inside the WestWoods world, it would feel like:
• a steaming mug with fog rising through rows of lavender
• a soft robe in cool morning air
• the quiet of a cabin at night
• cold water, warm fire, and deep breath
• a long table meal with friends
• slow, intentional living
• a home you return to again and again
This is not a retreat.
It’s not a spa.
It’s not a farm.
It’s all three — seamlessly woven into a place that feels like nowhere else.
